Why You SHOULD Attend
by Megan Tanel,Director of CONEXPO-CON/AGG
Visitors to CONEXPO-CON/AGG come knowing that this is the gathering place in North America to showcase the latest equipment and technologies. They’ll find the leading U.S. and global manufacturers and service providers ready to discuss product features and applications to increase productivity.
In the space of a few days, in one place, show attendees can see the best of what the industry has to offer and purchase equipment, products, and services to increase their return on investment. They can make industry connections from around the world and learn from the experts in our comprehensive education program.
Our focus is on providing attendees with a positive, quality show experience. This starts even before the show opens with online planning tools such as the Virtual Trade Show of exhibitors and, new for 2008, the Map Your Show feature. This is a great interactive tool that lets attendees pre-plan their show visit to maximize time on the show floor. They can compile a list of their must-see exhibitors and pencil in education sessions they want to attend. The Map Your Show feature offers the ability to connect buyers and sellers prior to the show. We’ll also have interactive product locators on the show floor.
Industry-focused computer software, hardware, and peripherals will be grouped into a special Information Technology and Management Pavilion, sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of America. Technology is always changing and attendees will be able to compare features and benefits of the latest tools to help them manage their business operations.
We encourage attendees to take advantage of the extensive industry-focused education sessions that are available at the show. We develop the program with leading industry associations so that the latest information on trends and practices is presented to help attendees increase their job and management knowledge. Attendees can earn continuing education credits for all sessions, and we’ll also use electronic technologies such as pod casts to deliver education.
We’ve got some new additions for the 2008 show to spotlight safety and training. We have a free best practices seminar for small fleet management on the last day of the show. The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, a show sponsor, is holding its first-ever International Mixer Driver Championship. Another show sponsor, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, is holding its first-ever Construction Challenge competition to interest teens in joining the construction industry. And we’ll have a special Safety Zone of exhibits from industry and government groups.
